News from the team

I'll publish information here in diary form as I receive it from the team on St Brandon. The only means of communicating with the team (apart from radio of course!) is by a slow data link on an Iridium satellite phone, so please do not expect a large amount of detail. I'll tell you what I know! You can contact me at 3b7c@g3wgv.com. I will consolidate any feedback I receive into a daily e-mail for transmission to the team, which will necessarily also be brief.

24-Sep-2007 @ 09:15 UTC

The on-line log has now been updated to include all QSOs up to 12:00Z yesterday. There are now 125,972 QSOs in the log. I'm having a bit of difficulty uploading the later logs to 04:00 this morning. Hopefully will resolve soon.

News from the team:

Antenna breakdown has begun this morning. I expect we will add a few thousand more QSOs today with reduced capacity and work-day size pileups. As previously advertised, Top band, 80m and 40m will run until Tuesday 25-Sept at 0300z or until propagation folds, whichever is first.

23-Sep-2007 @ 13:20 UTC

The on-line log has now been updated to include all QSOs up to 04:00Z today. There are now 122,933 QSOs in the log.

Message from G3NUG, DXpedition leader:

With over 122,000 QSOs in the log as of Sep 23 Sun 0400z, 3B7C now stands as the 3rd highest QSO DXpedition, behind the D68C and 3B9C FSDXA operations.

News from the team:

Top band, 80m and 40m will run until Tuesday 25-Sept at 0300z or until propagation folds, whichever is first.

23-Sep-2007 @ 08:30 UTC

The on-line log has now been updated to include all QSOs up to 08:00Z yesterday. There are now 115,688 QSOs in the log. I am expecting more log updates during the day.

RTTY operation: I am getting a lot of e-mails asking for more RTTY and I have passed those requests on to the team. Right now they are QRV on 10m RTTY working EU, as requested. I do not have any further details on RTTY plans or schedules but if I get any information then I'll post it here.

22-Sep-2007 @ 16:20 UTC

The on-line log has now been updated to include all QSOs up to 04:15Z this morning. There are now 114,348 QSOs in the log.

Team news on the shutdown programme:

3B7C shutdown planned for Sep 25 Tue at dawn, approximately 0600z when the low bands close. This represents an extension of the originally planned operating period by one day. Operations on Monday will be somewhat reduced, with fewer antenna choices and operators available as the team begins takedown.

22-Sep-2007 @ 11:00 UTC

The on-line log has now been updated to include all QSOs up to 12:00Z yesterday. There are now 109,874 QSOs in the log. I am expecting more log updates during the day.

21-Sep-2007 @ 09:00 UTC

The on-line log has now been updated to include all QSOs up to 04:00Z this morning. There are now 107,666 QSOs in the log.

20-Sep-2007 @ 15:40 UTC

The on-line log has now been updated to include all QSOs up to 09:00Z this morning. There are now 101,791 QSOs in the log.

From the team:

We made three more 160m long path QSOs today at 19/1350-1410, plus two calls copied but not worked. Unfortunately the noise that we assume is the Dragon was on tonight, interfering with copy a bit. But with some cooperation from propagation we hope to get more west coast top banders in the log in the days to come.

20-Sep-2007 @ 14:15 UTC

The on-line log has now been updated to include all QSOs up to 08:00Z yesterday morning. There are now 94,742 QSOs in the log. I am still awaiting the other QSOs from yesterday to complete the update.
