3B7C and 50 MHz
It is quite unusual for amateur radio stations in Mauritius to gain permission for 50 Mhz operation.
3B7C has negotiated with the licensing authorities to be allowed to operate on three spot frequencies on 50 MHz.
The frequencies are:
50.090 - our CW beacon
50.102 - our CW working frequency
50.145 - our SSB frequency
We will be keeping the beacon operational at all times, and when there is any sign of propagation we will change to manual mode, and call CQ. Our antenna is a 7 element long yagi at the water's edge.
Based on our experience in Rodrigues, we expect to have openings to Japan and southern Asia and Europe. Who knows where else ?
We have experienced 6 metre operators, and will be doing our best to provide as many QSOs as possible on this band. There will not be any data operation on 6m
See you on 6m !
